MANILA — Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr., on Thursday said criminal charges had been filed against two of its jail guards before the Taguig City prosecutor’s office in connection with the Christmas Eve escape of a South Korean detainee while at their custody.

BOYS moped around behind the high fences of Christmas Island’s Phosphate Hill detention centre yesterday. One paced with hands slouched in pockets and his baseball hat pulled down, another bounced ping-pong balls repeatedly on a bat, another tossed a tennis ball in the air.
